Terra Ventures is a junior mining and exploration company focused on acquiring and developing uranium assets which have world class potential through North America, primarily in the Athabasca Basin. The Athabasca Basin currently provides nearly one third of the world's Uranium supply (see U308 Resource Overview).
Terra Ventures has a 10% carried interest in one of the most significant high grade Uranium discoveries in the last 30 years with its Midwest Northeast project, located in the Athabasca Basin. Hathor Exploration owns the remaining 90% of the stake and serves as its operator. Throughout 2008, the Terra/Hathor Midwest NE Project delivered extremely positive assay results for more than a dozen holes that were drilled as part of its summer and winter Drill Programs. A new drill program was announced on January 20, 2009.
The company also owns a 10% stake in Titan Uranium's Castle project, also located in the Athabasca Basin. The location of this property is adjacent to the AREVA/UEX Shea Creek project and is also located 25 kilometers south of the past producing Cluff Lake Mine, owned by Areva Resources.
As part of its strategy to acquire properties with world class potential, the company acquired its Lac Kachiwiss property, located in Sept Iles, Quebec in 2007. This property was explored by Getty Mineral Company Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Getty Oil, from 1975-1978. Terra most recently finalized its winter 2008 drilling program for 12 holes and announced positive assay results on this project including 116.95 Metres of 103 PPM U308. A 10,800 line-kilometer airborne radiometric/magnetic survey was recently carried out and radiometric survey outlined many large, high-priority targets. In addition, Terra has purchased a 100% interest in an additional 113,000 acres and has also acquired additional land by staking 250,000 acres.
The company has a strong commitment to building a solid financial and technical management team to facilitate its growth and project success. As Chairman of the Board and active member of the company since 2007, James Hutton brings more 20 years experience in corporate finance and resource management. Gunther Roehlig, founder of Terra Ventures, serves as its President and CEO, and plays a pivotal role in all of the company's business development and corporate financings. Appointed Terra's CFO in 2007, Robert G. McMorran is also the president of Malaspina Consultants Inc., an accounting and administrative management services business serving junior public companies since 1997. Mike Magrum joined Terra Ventures management team as its key technical advisor (as a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101) in January 2007. Mr. Magrum is instrumental in the technical management of all of Terra's current Uranium properties - as well as the ongoing development and acquisition of key Uranium properties across North America. Rounding out the management team is Greig Hutton who brings more than 20 years of senior sales and marketing management experience to Terra.
The company's ongoing commitment to acquiring highly strategic uranium properties throughout North America, matched with highly experienced management team, is it's foundation for growth and building shareholder value.
